Nikki Manuel, APN
Nikki has resided in the NW suburbs of Chicago her entire life. She grew up in Streamwood IL, graduating from Streamwood H.S. She continued her education at Northern Illinois University, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree. Her first job was on the cardiology floor at a local hospital in Elk Grove Village where her love for cardiology started. She then advanced into the critical care units and then the cardiac catheterization lab while simultaneously returning to school for her master’s degree at St Xavier University. She graduated after 4 1/2 years and became Board Certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. With her new degree and Advanced Practice Provider license, she created a career path for herself which has led to many different roles in cardiology, including program development for therapies like TAVR, staff development to ensure competent patient care and nurse practitioner. She is passionate about cardiology and educating others, most importantly, her patients. She strongly believes that knowledge is power and is committed to teaching patients about their cardiac condition, medications, risk factor modification behaviors, testing/procedure expectations, test results, etc.
She has spent the last few years of her career with Dr Bromet at a cardiology practice in Elgin. She is experienced in the care of those with heart failure, cardiac and peripheral angiograms/interventions and structural heart interventions like TAVR, mitraClip and LAAO device implants.
Outside of work, Nikki enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys going to the theater, live music and traveling.
