Dr. Bromet has been practicing medicine in the Fox River Valley since 2004 and joined Illinois Cardiovascular Specialists in 2024. From 2004 to 2023, he was based in Elgin and Algonquin, Illinois, where he served as Chief of Cardiology for nine years and Director of the Invasive and Interventional Catheterization Laboratories for five years.
Dr. Bromet also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Rockford, and held numerous leadership roles, including positions on hospital boards and medical executive committees.
Dr. Bromet and his wife, Elizabeth, have lived in North Barrington since 2004 and have four children. Outside of medicine, he enjoys golf, skiing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Education & Training
Originally from Michigan, Dr. Bromet attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He then completed his medical education at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio, graduating with his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1997.
After medical school, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Ohio State University Hospitals and subsequently trained at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago as a Cardiology Fellow, Chief Cardiology Fellow, and Interventional Cardiology Fellow.
Board Certifications & Academic Contributions
Dr. Bromet is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiovascular Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine.
He has authored or co-authored numerous scientific publications, peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and abstracts. He has also delivered lectures and presentations on cardiovascular topics at national meetings, including those hosted by the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
