David S. Bromet MD, FACC
Dr. Bromet has been practicing medicine in the Fox River Valley since 2004 and will be joining Illinois Cardiovascular Consultants in the spring of 2024. From 2004 – 2023 he was based in Elgin and Algonquin, Illinois with what is now called Ascension Health. At Ascension St. Joseph’s Elgin, Dr. Bromet was Chief of Cardiology for 9 years as well as Director of the Invasive and Interventional Catheterization Labs for 5 years. From 2005-2009 he was also Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine for the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Rockford. In that time frame, he served on many Boards in positions of leadership including the hospital’s Board of Directors for Community Health for 8 years and the Medical Executive committee for 15 years.
Originally from Michigan, he graduated High School at Fairfield Prep in Fairfield, Connecticut. He then attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where he met his wife Elizabeth. He graduated from Emory with Co-Majors. After completing additional postgraduate work, Dr. Bromet attended The Ohio State College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio, graduating with his MD in 1997. He stayed at Ohio State University Hospitals for his categorical Internal Medicine Residency. In 2000, he moved with his growing family to Chicago, Illinois where he was a Cardiology Fellow, Chief Cardiology Fellow and Interventional Cardiology Fellow at the Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Bromet has received his Boards in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology and Interventional Cardiovascular Medicine. He has authored or co-authored 10 papers, peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters as well as 19 abstracts. He has given dozens of lectures and presentations on cardiovascular topics, including at the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association national meetings.
Dave and Dr. Liz (PhD. in Psychology – he considers her the smart one in the family!) have lived in North Barrington since 2004. They have 4 children. He enjoys golf, skiing, travelling and spending his rare free time with his family.
